While a lesion may be determined to be benign and not of any risk to the patient, there are a number of reasons why you may want them removed. This could due to cosmetic reasons, or if the lesion is in an inconvenient or annoying location. Rose Clinic offers both Cryotherapy and Plasma Fibroblast therapy as a means of lesion removal.
Cryotherapy works by causing the water in the skin cells to freeze. As this happens, the water expands, setting up a crystalline matrix, and then fractures the cell walls causing cellular necrosis (otherwise known as cell death). Rapid freezing (below -27 deg C) also destroys the nucleus of the cell. This means there is no revival or the lesions as all cells within it are removed. All lesions that can be treated are superficial lesions in and on the skin.
Plasma Energy treatment is delivered using an electronic handpiece containing a small metal probe that when exposed to atmospheric gas (nitrogen) produces a tiny plasma flash between the device tip and the patient’s skin. Plasma is formed through the ionization of the atmospheric gas, which works to stimulate to contraction, shortening, and tightening skin tissues.
