What is a Mole Check?

We are able to assess up to 5 moles or lesions of your choice by means of Digital Dermsocopy. Digital Dermoscopy is a non-invasive technique used in the early detection of skin cancer. This magnified view provides a detailed image of the internal structure of the lesion, assisting in the identification of characteristics that may lead to skin cancer.

Digital Dermoscopy is used for the assessment of concerning moles or lesions.

A concerning skin lesion may present as;

  • New or changing
  • Itchy
  • Bleeding

During your appointment.

A member of our Nurse-Led Melanography team will assess you on the day. They will confirm your details as stated on the consultation form, will ask you to highlight the lesions of concern and will digitally dermoscope said lesions. These images will be saved to your personal file which will allow for doctor analysis and further comparative imaging if necessary. They will also be able to advise you on the best practices of how to keep you skin safe, how to perform self-examinations at home, and what changes or developments in the skin you should look out for.

After your visiting, your imaging will be reviewed by our medical team of doctors who will analyse your imaging, and will revert back to you with their outcome, usually within 10 working days.
